OUR MISSION
Ashford Acres Inn is a wedding venue and bed and breakfast dedicated to meeting the highest standards of service in hospitality, wedding planning and private and public event planning, through unique and creative concepts, providing memorable and stress-free experiences for our guests.
What do you do when you have your eye on a beautiful, old home that you know would make an incredible wedding venue, and your sister tells you she’s interested in wedding planning? You take the plunge and embark on exciting, new careers!
After renovating the historic mansion and nailing down all of our ideas, we opened our doors in 2016 and haven’t looked back. For us, it’s all about creating experiences. We want our guests to truly enjoy their important weekend and appreciate every moment while we and our staff meticulously implement all of their wishes. We look forward to doing the same for you.

Sonia is the owner of the property and is the sister to Inn Manager, Annastasia. She keeps her thumb on the pulse of Ashford Acres Inn from Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband and two children. Her favorite memory at Ashford Acres is watching the spectacular fireworks show behind the Event Barn at her sister's wedding.
Executive Director, Annastasia, graduated from Centre College in 2015 and immediately began the journey of creating Ashford Acres Inn with her sister, Sonia. She spends her days making sure the property is meeting the highest standards in hospitality for all guests. She lives locally with her husband, who one might sometimes find serving drinks behind the bar, and four happy dogs, who are also often seen visiting the property.
Her favorite memory at Ashford Acres is her wedding day when she celebrated with her closest family and friends!
Ashford Acres Inn welcomed Audrey to the team in September 2022, and are truly reaping the benefits of her talents currently with menu changes, unique ‘pop up’ culinary events, our Thursday dinners available to the public, & so much more to come.
Audrey comes from a rich heritage of home cooks, some of whom she considers to be the best chefs she’s ever met!
These inspirations in her life are the reason she loves food, went into the culinary profession, & focuses on true southern cuisine.
On her days off, Audrey enjoys spending time with her wife Kayla and 3 dogs Pippa, Jupiter, and Remi.
Kaydee has been with us since 2021 and is currently our Housekeeping Manager.
Kaydee loves absolutely everything to do with cleaning. She works hard to ensure the comfort and cleanliness of the property from the dining rooms to the suites! She also loves weddings and watching the two families come together to create some of their best memories. She plans to have her wedding here some day!
Kaydee lives locally and has two dogs and a bunny! On her days off you can find her cleaning her own house or spending time with her family. Kaydee's favorite memory at Ashford Acres Inn is when she officiated her best friend's wedding here in 2023. This moment was such a special memory that she will truly treasure forever!
I love Ashford Acres Inn and meeting all of the guests! I also particularly love the beef tips that Chef Audrey gives to me. If you see me around, I am probably following my mom on property, and if you see a tennis ball next to me, feel free to throw it. I may or may not bring it back *shrugs furry shoulders*. I give kisses sometimes, and an occassional high five.

Mackenzie has been with Ashford Acres Inn since 2019 and is currently our Sous Chef. She enjoys collaborating with Ashford's Chef, creating new and exciting entrees for our guests. Her specialties are desserts, and you may see them on our seasonal menus! She loves wedding season and seeing the couple's dream come true.
Mackenzie's favorite memory at Ashford Acres Inn was her wedding day September of 2024. She couldn't imagine going anywhere else for her perfect day!
The Lexington and Georgetown area offer much in the way of history, but we humbly suggest that none is as architecturally beautiful, or as welcoming, as our historic inn. From the two-story tall Corinthian columns and the three-brick-thick walls, to the original plaster medallions in the sitting room and dining room, the history of Ashford Acres Inn is present in each room and all around the property.
The Greek Revival style home of Ashford Acres Inn was built in 1858 by local resident John Williams. Williams built the house for his son as a wedding present, but when the wedding was abruptly called off, the house went to his daughter, Caroline, who was married to Cynthiana sheriff, R.T. Lindsay. A story has been passed down that during the Civil War the house was used as a hospital for wounded soldiers, and while Caroline was standing in the east bedroom on the second floor, a cannonball shot through the front wall and out of the side wall.
Between 1865 and 1941 a number of different families resided in the house as originally built, until 1941 when the Owen family purchased the property and fully renovated the house. They added the columns, a dining room, and the veranda, and painted the house white. Much of the beauty of the house that you see today is due to the renovation work performed by the Owen family.

In 2015 Sonia Kirkman bought the property to open Ashford Acres Inn with her sister, Annastasia Hicks. After a year of renovation by Phase IV Contractors the inn was ready to open for business!
